Sustaining subscriptions are $25.00 US per year, which includes priority mailing costs. Single issues and back issues are $15.00 when mailed or $10 in person. Checks are payable to "Spot Write Literary Corp."
Spot Literary Magazine may also be available at [Open] Books, in Long Beach, CA, and at Shakespeare and Company, in Paris, France. Spring hardcopy issues become available in mid-May, with website publication in early May. Fall hardcopy issues become available in mid-November, with website publication in early November.
SLM accepts submissions from January 15 through February 15 for spring issues, and from August 15 to September 15 for fall issues.
Submissions
are considered for acceptance via email only: Texts must be sent as
Microsoft Word files in (simple) TIMES (or Times New Roman if you do
not have TIMES CE) font. Send black and white photos or art work in
grayscale JPEG file format.
Black-and-white photos and black-and-white artwork are
desirable, as are cross-genre works. Authors
and artists receive one free perfect-bound copy, limited-time internet
publication (with permission; the take-down date is the publication of
the subsequent issue), and one sponsored reading in the Southern
California area.
Works must be original to
the authors/artists and not under the attribution claim of any other
artist/writer. Works previously published (in either hardcopy or on internet sites) must be identified as such, and works with multiple author/artist attribution-right must be
submitted concurrently by all attributed authors/artists.
SLM assumes that authors and writers who submit works to SLM will either avoid submitting the same works to other venues simultaneously or that SLM will be informed immediately if another press or website (including an author's/artist's own website) will be publishing a work submitted to and accepted by SLM.
For further guidelines on copyright and attribution-right issues, link here to/see the homepage discussion on the website <http:www.susan-hansell.net>.
SLM issues are sometimes themed. See the Upcoming page on this (the SLM) site, or the blog <http://blog.susan-hansell.net> for complete specifications.
